I took these pictures while travelling throughout the Western part of Iceland in June 2004, covering over 1800 kilometers in one week. Having rented a brand new Landcruiser, I was able to cover a lot of territory off the beaten track. The very rugged country which unfolded before me as I traveled was magical and haunting. There is no place like it anywhere on this planet.
